We designed this home for a customer with a two-acre parcel near a biking trail, just outside of the city limits where they enjoy being close to their grandkids and have the comforts of space. The homeowners enjoy a natural prairie landscape while they sit on their inviting front porch that has spectacular cedar posts and beam. Additionally, the deck on the rear of the house provides amazing sunset vistas and undeveloped views. When entering the home from the sunroom, they are able to enjoy warm winter suns that take advantage of the South and West facing windows.

Wood Textures Complement the White Color Palette

Throughout the house, you’ll see hickory hardwood floors that provide contrast to the white painted doors and trim as well as the accent colors of the walls. The kitchen is a modern farmhouse style with floating shelves in lieu of upper cabinets. The walk-in pantry will provide additional storage for bulky items. The kitchen opens up to the great room which creates a volume space that will flex with their needs during large gatherings.

Incredible Bath Features

The extra bedrooms are at the front of the house and share a common hall bathroom. The Primary suite has views on two side of the house providing great natural light. Entering the bathroom, you see nice double vanities across from a tiled walk-in shower. The bathroom opens up to a spacious walk-in closet for their storage needs.

Choosing an Exterior to Match the Surroundings

The exterior is clad with LP Smart lap siding with accents of vertical board and batten on the front porch area. The colors were chosen to help the home blend into it’s natural surroundings.
